This Friday 2/10/23 from 7:00PM - 8:30PM ReelFly will host Justin Crockett for a fly tying night. We will be tying a Wooly Bugger, Pheasant Tail Nymph, and Elk Hair Caddis. $10 will provide you with drinks, pizza , materials and tools. All ages are welcome!

We are excited to get back to hosting our fly fishing clinics! These events have been a huge success in the past for recruiting people into our hobby (job, obsession etc.) of fly fishing.

To kick off our clinics, we are hosting an introduction to fly fishing that will be focused on beginner to intermediate skill level anglers. If you are reading this, and have participated in our clinics before, know this will be a bit of a different experience.

As with our clinics in the past, your price of admission includes a full fly rod/reel setup but we will be doing the instruction slightly different. This event will be hosted on the San Marcos River. The group will spend around 1 hour going over the basics of their new equipment, common fly tackle, terminology and knot tying. After a short break we will move to an hour of ON THE WATER casting and instruction. Anglers will be able to fish from the bank as well as take turns fishing out of guide boats where our guides will row you up and down the river while giving you real time instruction. Some of you may want to end the day there and take your new knowledge and toys with you. For others that want to extend the day and gain a LOT more knowledge we are offering something really cool - a guided half day fly fishing trip down the river. From here you’ll take the tools you previously learned and get to put them into real world application. You’ll spend the next 3 hours with you, one other angler, and the guide floating down the river all while obtaining more instruction. We are offering these limited spots at a discounted rate compared to our regular guided trips.

Get Trashed is a one day event created by Pig Farm Ink and hosted at a local venue; fly shop, bar, restaurant, trailer park, etc. Teams of "anglers" will "compete" for "prizes" while fly fishing and collecting trash in their local community. Each team must have at least 1 newbie fly fisher person, but there is no limit on the size of your team.

Together, with Real Ale Brewing Company, we are hosting a 4 hour (3 hours of instruction) fly fishing clinic focused around our most popular, local warm water game fish. This is a great opportunity for the beginner to intermediate fly fisher or wanna-be fly fisher to learn the techniques it takes to enjoy their time outside with a fly rod. The day will start with an intro presentation to fly fishing and your equipment and progress through knot tying and fly selection. We’ll then take a lunch break after which we will reconvene for casting instruction on the lawn and a friendly casting competition with prizes! Equipment IS included in your registration fee which is suitable for most of our local species.

This event will be $10/person and will include all materials.
